The Trip

Fairy tales really do exist. And they do in Slovenia’s wild Triglav National Park at the time of autumn. Trek with us through the Julian Alps. In autumn you will experience the most serene fairy tale adventure there. Definitely not your usual week at work, because in this peaceful wild world you will unwind.

The summer huts are closed, the people are gone. As we travel from one winter bivouac hut to the next, you’re more likely to encounter animals than people. Traveling in the Seven Lakes Valley, we grab a peak or two or three along the way. After a few nights in basic adventurous huts, we enjoy the relative luxury of the staffed Komna mountain hut that is open year-round. We appreciate the little things, or is it just the big things? Navigational backup by our local dog Bowie, leader of the pack!

Theme and levels

The theme of this trip is Wild Fitness: the days are fairly intense and physical. We will walk daily from hut to hut and climb peaks along the way with those who feel like it. Good basic fitness and experience with hiking in mountainous terrain is desirable for this trip. We will walk daily for 7-10 hours through the mountains with the necessary altimeters towards the peaks. This can add up to more than 1500.
