Wild Human Ardennes

The Trip

Everything in, with and about nature! Learn the art of the outdoors in the verdant surroundings of the Belgian Ardennes. A three-day crash course focused on self-reliance, solution orientation, improvisation and wilderness knowledge. We will teach you the intricacies of the Wild Human profession, for a wilder life with more nature and outdoor adventures. Back to basics in a modern jacket.

How can we read, interpret and use a natural environment around us to our advantage? Navigating with map and compass, orienting by the environment, the sun and the stars, how does that work? And moving in the dark? What are primary survival basics and what’s in a survival kit? Learn more about what you can eat from nature and make the most delicious wild dishes with it.

We’ll show you that weeds don’t actually exist and that every season has its own wild-picking charm. Depending on that season, you will learn to pick edible herbs, collect fruits and recognize mushrooms. You will cook in different ways outdoors and we will prepare a stellar dinner in the wild without an elaborate kitchen. We will make shelters in nature, because sleeping under the stars is obviously something you must have done once in your life.

From our own basecamp we work towards a challenging final exercise in which you will put into practice everything you have learned, after which you can go on the road with all confidence and the right skills. An instructive but above all beautiful experience!

Theme and levels

The theme of this trip is Wild Skills.
