The Trip
Bouldering in Portugal? Well and truly! Welcome to Serra de Sintra: a natural masterpiece in the hinterland of Lisbon. Best described as an exhilarating playground decorated with boulders in an arsenal of colors, textures and structures. A particularly beautiful scenic mix of coast, forest and mountain. Here you will always find a place with good friction. And projects. Technical slabs, challenging overhangs, nasty crimps and high walls – there’s plenty of everything in the Serra. We head to Portugal for the best of Sintra. And you can join us! We guide you through the climbing areas and solemnly promise to take you to the best boulders. We arrange, you climb.
So here you boulder limestone rocks on the coast with phenomenal sea views. Blocks that have withstood the roughness and rigors of the Atlantic for a respectable amount of time. But you also climb under the lush foliage of the serene forest in historic style. These colossal granite boulders have not been moved for thousands of years. Look left and you’ll see a fairy forest with a million species of moss. If you look to the right you will see a rainforest with the most extraordinary plants. On top of the mountain with 360-degree views of the region, rocks with the most creative shapes might tempt you to donate some skin.
With more than 1,500 bouldering projects, there is something for everyone here. Whether you’re a seasoned outdoor climber or a beginner taking your first steps outside. Packed with crash pads, climbing shoes, puff, topos, good company and our own bouldering coaches, we’ll create a basecamp among the boulders and help you navigate the rocks. As well as the intricacies of spotting, the do’s and don’ts in Portugal and how to treat nature sustainably. At rest stops, we’ll take time for a nice hike along the rugged coastal cliffs.

Theme and levels
The theme of this trip is Wild Fitness. This means that physical activity, bouldering, will take center stage during these days. We will boulder several days during the week and we will take a hike with daypack along the rugged coastline. Therefore, an average level of fitness is required for this trip. Your bouldering level is not important.
