Mountain of the Gods Greece

The Trip
When you think of Greece, you may think of islands, the sea and the beach. But if you search, you will also find another Greece. In search of that other Greece, we set sail for Mount Olympus on the mainland. Olympus rises spectacularly from sea level just ten kilometers from the Aegean Sea coast and, at nearly 3,000 meters, is the highest mountain in Greece. According to mythology, the home of the most important Gods and in particular the exalted residence of the supreme god Zeus.
Here we create our own mythical story. A magisterial wild camping adventure of a different kind. Our trip starts from the charming garrison town of Litochoro, where we work our way up the mountain fully (depending on conditions) in Greek style supported by mules. Once at the top, from our tented camp, we climb the throne of Zeus and several other notable peaks of Olympus overlooking the sea. Armed with mountain guide, climbing gear and focus that is. Because some of these peaks require hand and foot work and exhilarating scrambles on a rope through snow-filled couloirs!

Theme and levels
Wild Fitness is the theme of this group trip: the days are intense and physical. This trip requires good fitness as well as previous experience hiking in mountainous terrain. This trip is not suitable for people who are afraid of heights and we recommend practicing bouldering or climbing prior to the trip. We will walk daily for 7-10 hours through the mountains with the necessary altimeters towards the peaks, sometimes with a somewhat heavier bag. The altimeters can reach up to more than 1500. Experience with (wild) camping and Wild Human is a big plus.
