The Trip

Staying on course in the midst of daily turbulence. Taking leadership over your own life, no matter what is going on around you. With developing resilience and robustness as a central focus, we will trek into the wilderness: an ultimate place to learn more about your unique path. With guidance from both guides and a coach.

You are invited to join us on a developmental journey in the Scottish mountain wilderness. Outward to turn inward. The route will be as real as it is metaphorical, as we talk as we walk. Our thoughts, conversations and steps will lead us over difficult terrain, rocky half-trails and ridges with steep sides.

Together we reflect on ourselves, on who we are. Or rather, on who we have become. We support each other in asking fundamental questions. Why am I doing what I am doing? Why am I not doing what I would like to do? And why am I doing what I would not like to be doing? What life experiences are crucial in this and how do they influence me? What is authentic and what is learned? How does this express itself in my leadership, in my work and in my personal life? In my ambition and the inspiration I seek? Am I still sure of the path I am on? Profound questions aimed at resetting your course and increasing inner comfort. Questions that fit seamlessly into the rugged and wild environment in which we find ourselves.

Theme and levels

You reflect on your leadership in an off-grid environment away from routines, comfort and distractions. Without phones and watches, we use the workings and simplicity of nature as a driving force for focus, new insights and personal growth. Walking every day, questioning ourselves, talking and reflecting.

This trip is part of the Teams & Organizations trips. This program is designed for (senior) executives interested in further leadership development. Together we are open to reflection, sharing, supporting each other and challenging our egos. Each of us has dreams as well as scars. What connects us is a desire for inspiration, greater self-insight and living fully. Together we take the next step in self-leadership to be a powerful, positive influence in work and at home.

Participating requires a healthy body, an open mind and a bit of character. The days are physical: about 15 kilometers a day, sometimes a lot of elevation gain, tough and slow terrain and unpredictable Scottish weather without many shelters. With a full backpack, we run camp together and move through raw wilderness. No experience with wild camping is necessary; we will guide you and teach you the skills to travel comfortably and self-sufficiently. Before participating, we do a brief intake focused on your goals and preparation.
