Alt Pirineu Traverse

The Trip
Whoever says the Pyrenees does not always immediately say Catalonia. But we do. We take you to a hidden playground in the Catalan Pyrenees: raw, savage and wild. Nature Park Alt Pirineu in the Pallars Sobirà Mountains sets the stage for a traverse along the border with France and Andorra. Once departed from civilization, the mountains are our habitat for a week. What we encounter along the way we won’t know until afterwards, but the adventure begins where the plan ends. We are guided by curiosity, adventure and the nature around us.
With our house on our backs, we are heading into the Catalan backcountry for a multi-day bivouac wild camping trip. Self-sufficient and off-the-grid. Along the way we make our camp in the wilderness, spot wildlife, swim in lakes and climb the high peaks of Catalunya with 360° degree views of the mountain range.
Outdoor life on the road is simple and only the essentials are the focus. Moving, navigating, overcoming wilderness challenges, cooking food, purifying water, making bivouacs, packing bags, etc. No comforts of a warm house, no full refrigerator or hot water at the touch of a button. But the very simplicity of life on the road makes the experience rich.

Theme and levels
The theme of this trip is Wild Fitness and it is important to be physically fit. We will hike through steep terrain with alternating between full packs and day packs. A day route with pack contains between 10-15 km with 600 to 1000 altimeters. Sometimes we leave our backpack in camp for a day and do a day hike. We go over moraine terrain, remaining snow fields, grass and rocks. Therefore, a good hiking condition is required for this trip. After 7 days we travel back to the Netherlands wild and fulfilled with an unforgettable experience richer. When in doubt you can always contact us.
