Sinai Rocks

In the serene backwater of the southeast coast of Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula surrounded by the azure waters of the Red Sea and imposing desert mountains, countless granite boulders lie among the wadis and jebels. We went there for a bouldering adventure of a different caliber. To experience the wild nature while climbing with the local Bedouins in the most beautiful spots. Packed with climbing gear, motivation screaming out of our pores and accompanied by good company, we made camp deep in the canyons of the desert.

Not just to climb rocks, but to puzzle together on the rock and overcome fears. A powerful way to connect with nature, create a sense of camaraderie, not to mention an introduction to a wonderful, welcoming culture. The Sinai rocks, clearly a keeper! A tiny impression….

The Bedouins here still live according to traditional customs and manage natural resources in a sustainable way, following ancient traditions that sometimes even date back to pre-Islamic times. They showed us the best-kept secrets of the area, we took time for a beautiful hike through the canyons of Sinai and spent the night in a traditional Bedouin camp, under a twinkling starry sky where we shared stories by the campfire with Bedouin tea.
