Autumn at its most beautiful in Slovenia

October is perhaps the best month to head into the mountains. On Wild Slovenia, you’ll travel through Slovenia’s Triglav National Park as forests slowly turn color and the Julian Alps feel increasingly rugged toward winter.

From bivouac to bivouac, you trek through quiet mountain landscapes where you are more likely to encounter animals than other people. Active during the day, cooking together at night, sharing stories and completely immersing yourself in the rhythm of nature. No crowded trails or mass tourism, but a group adventure trip where simplicity and outdoor life are central.

Why October is suitable for group adventure travel

October brings a different kind of energy. Nature calms down, temperatures drop and the outdoors feels more pure and direct. This makes this month particularly suitable for group travel that combines adventure, simplicity and nature experiences.

Whereas summer is often all about speed and hustle and bustle, October invites you to slow down. Long walks through autumn landscapes, crisp mornings outside and evenings around the fire provide a totally different dynamic on the road.

For adventure group travel, this makes October feel calmer, deeper and more connected to the rhythms of nature.

Who are group tours in October suitable for?

Rewild’s October group trips are for people who are comfortable in harsher conditions and get energy from nature, movement and simplicity. For people who prefer to be outside rather than inside, enjoy being active on the move and are drawn to the autumn season.

You don’t have to be an experienced outdoorsman, but you do have to be open to physical exertion, changing weather conditions and trips where adventure is more important than comfort. Our group trips are not about luxury, but about living outdoors together, improvising and sharing experiences in nature.

Many participants join solo. What often connects them is the need for peace, adventure and more real connection to the environment and each other.
