About Rewild
Rewild organizes extraordinary trips. We take you into the wilderness, often far away from civilization. Because being outdoors, traveling and adventuring is in our nature. It challenges you, keeps you resilient and fresh. But today’s life is increasingly taking place indoors, the digital world is taking possession of us, and more than ever we are accustomed to comfort and convenience. A time when original skills are disappearing and we are increasingly alienated from nature and our original lifestyle. We seem to have forgotten where we came from. That’s why we make the outdoors accessible again and our guide team reconnects you with nature. From observing to participating. From insecurity to self-confidence. From screen to outside. From ignorant to self-reliant. Rewild yourself!
Memorable adventures
Adventure begins where the plan ends. We go for trips with a raw edge that make lasting impressions. Sometimes on the cutting edge. Always adventurous. Real experiences, memorable experiences with enriching moments. View the travel agenda for all trips.
Togetherness
Thrown back to the basics and dependent on one another, a sense of togetherness and connection arises, regardless of origin or background. A state beyond cultivation, conditioning, differences, ideological frameworks, and status, where mutual understanding emerges. Together we roll up our sleeves and create a shared experience.
Self-reliance
While the trend of more indoors, more digital, more comfort, more routine, more convenience, and simply more continues, life outdoors on the road is often hard work, sometimes a struggle, and very simple. Old-fashioned physical effort, putting in a lot of energy for basic needs and essentials. Because that effort pays off in satisfaction, pride, and euphoria. Facing an unpredictable reality full of unforeseen and challenging circumstances builds trust in your own abilities while fostering healthy humility, inspired by the vastness and uncontrollability of the wilderness. Gaining wilderness skills and developing the confidence that you can take care of yourself and that things will work out, even if at times you don’t yet know how.
Minimalist
At Rewild, we adopt a minimalist style of travel with as little negative impact as possible. The vast majority of our travel is spent on foot. On foot in nature in places you can only get to with physical labor. Mainly in tents with our own gear on our backs, simple without much luxury or comfort. By getting used to little, you experience the freedom of needing nothing, you find contentment in simplicity and wealth in frugality. Thus you become more comfortable in discomfort. We avoid places of mass tourism, travel in small groups and in seasons when it is quiet in order to spread the pressure on nature.
Raw nature experience
The feeling of being off the radar, perhaps days walk from civilization, in the middle of the raw wilderness is especially good to experience and difficult to describe. The feeling of oneness with the nature around you. By intensely experiencing serenity, nature and its positive effect on our well-being, we hope to create awareness of its importance. And in addition, awareness of the human impact on nature, the local environment, flora and fauna. Because the more we alienate ourselves from nature, the less conscious we are of it.
Back to your nature
We live in a time when original skills are disappearing and we are increasingly alienated from nature and our original lifestyle. Urban life is becoming more complex and the pace is accelerating. Being out in nature provides the ultimate setting to let go of the delusion of the day. A delusion in which we sometimes forget that we are a creature of nature. Being outside regularly, surrounded by wilderness and experiencing connection with the natural environment around you, keeps you fresh and balanced. A world where you come to yourself and gain energy. Find out which trip suits you and request no-obligation advice.
Cultural Enrichment
By showing interest in other lifestyles with an open attitude, you bridge cultural differences, create mutual understanding and find connection. Encounters with dissenters and other cultures sharpen your mind and enrich your perspective.
Local contributions
Into the wilderness we do in an ecologically and culturally responsible way, respecting local customs. We join forces in an honest way with local parties and guides who advocate sustainability, share our philosophy and live in harmony with nature. So no big hotel chains from which the local population gets little return. In this way we can give back to the community and be meaningful locally for the residents, family businesses and local guides.
Transport
Although we travel minimalistically and do most of the trip under our own power, gear and transportation are needed to accomplish the trip. Therefore, for parts of a trip we also use the train, boat, car or a plane. To reduce the carbon footprint, many of the trips do not require a plane and we have sought out the most beautiful places close to home for you. Because train travel and road trips in carpool form with the Rewild bus are at least as fun! The trips for which we fly are therefore truly special.
Materials
You can also come to Rewild for all your outdoor gear needs. At Rewild, we provide sharing and rental of outdoor gear from high quality brands. By sharing and renting equipment, we increase usage rates and reduce our footprint when it comes to material consumption and purchasing new materials. We choose 2nd hand rather than new and keep quality over quantity. We give materials and equipment a second life and for that, instead of replacement, we choose repair. We do this in cooperation with Rab.
